8 retiring SPs given rousing farewell

PESHAWR: A farewell party was arranged in honour of 8 SPs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police who have recently retired from the force in CPO Peshawar today.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani, Additional IGPs Headquarters and Special Branch, Chief Capital City Police Peshawar, DIG Investigation, DIGs Headquarters, Enquiry & Inspection, AIG Establishment and Peshawar based other high ranking police officers largely attended the ceremony.
Those 8 police officers who recently retired after three and four decades of service on different post included Abdur Rasheed Marwat.
education qualification FA and 39 years service, Inayatullah Shah (BA/ LLB) 39 years service, Muhammad Riaz (FA) 36 years service, Akbar Ali (BA) (41 years and 4 months service) (longest one), Ali Rehmat (BA) 36 years service, Aziz-ur-Rahman (BA/LLB) 33 years service, Shakirullah Bangash (BA) 39 year service and Jehanzeb Khan (BA/LLB) 34 years service. All of them inducted in the force as ASI and reached to the rank of SP after serving on different posts in different capacity. They served the people to the best of their capabilities and brought the honour and success for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police.
Addressing the ceremony the IGP Nasir Khan Durrani while paying rich tributes to the meritorious services of the retired SPs said that it was a matter of great pride that they are retiring after spending the most difficult and crucial phase of their lives with dignity and honour. He further added that it was a herculean and an uphill task to reach to the rank of SP from ASI for which they remained in the field for all most the whole life and delivered to the people in a specific culture without any issue. The IGP termed them the back bone of the force as by saying that the field policing was the real and challenging policing and they performed it to the best of their capabilities and the entire satisfaction of the general public. The IGP said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have the inherent capabilities of quick adoptability to the changing environment and expressed good wishes for all the officers in future and stressed the need for taking advantage of their rich experience for the force.
Earlier, all the retired officers threw lights on their long and eventual career and the challenges they confronted bravely while posted on different posts. On this occasion pray was also offered for the solidarity, integrity and prosperity of the country. The IGP presented special police shields and gifts to all the 8 retired SPs.
