“Anti Corruption Week 2019” concluded at UET Peshawar

A one-day closing seminar on “Anti Corruption” was organized by the student society, “Character Building Society” the other day. The seminar was organized to mark “International Anti Corruption Day i.e 9th December which is globally celebrated every year”.
Director Awareness NAB KP, Dr. Nawaz Qaiser was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address he said, that unfortunately, Pakistan is amongst one of the corrupt countries worldwide. He urged on students that youth can play an important role in controlling the corruption. He appreciated the university and students’ role towards it and informed that NAB is focused to bring massive awareness over the issue at institutional, Districts/Tehsil and Provincial levels through which all civil institutions are engaged through various activities.
Prof. Dr. Naeem Arbab , Pro-Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar in his address emphasized that this endemic evil can be eradicated through rule of law and transparency in governance and having faith in Allah Almighty. Dr. Khizar Azam Khan, Registrar UET Peshawar in his address said that the evils that corruption has caused at every level of society. He encouraged the participants who pledged to fight against corruption and ensured that UET Peshawar will continue abiding the rule of law in its daily operations.
Later, awards were distributed to the winners of various competitions including debate (Urdu and English) and painting competitions that were held over the week. A large number of faculty, staff and a large number of students participated in the seminar.
