Chairman Businessmen Panel (BMP) of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Mian Anjum Nisar has said that the business community supports the bold step taken by the National Security Council (NSC) regarding suspending trade relations and downgrade diplomatic relations with India.
He said, “This move can be seen as direct fallout of Narendra Modi government’s decision to remove all special provisions relating to Kashmir and bifurcate the state into two Union Territories.”
Mian Anjum Nisar condemned the decision of Indian government revoking Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and proposed that the state be bifurcated into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
“Masses need not to worry as the Pakistan Army has all the abilities and capabilities to frustrate unholy designs of the enemies”, he said.
He said that Indian annexation of Kashmir has put the world’s peace at stake which will damage all regional economies and push millions in poverty.
“Indian economy will be damaged more than other countries as they have much to lose” he said and added we may not be attend those SAARC Chamber of Commerce meetings under protest where Indian presence will be there
However In the first quarter of FY19-20, India’s exports to Pakistan were $452.5 million and imports were $7.13 million. In FY18-19, India total exports to Pakistan were $2.06 billion, while imports were $495 million. India’s major items of export are organic chemicals, cotton, plastics and dyes, while imports are fruit and edible nuts, and mineral fuels.
The BMP official and Former Provincial Minister of Industry also urged from the Chinese Government to call off trade with India as well under protest of Ladakh which now a part of Union of India.
Anjum Nisar further said in the given circumstances, there are very little chances of a breakthrough after recent PM Modi move in Lok Sabah. “India once again lose the chance for the stability of peace and harmony in this region though trade ties and business relations need a sharp boost to incentivize peace and enhanced connectivity between the India and Pakistan will create corridors of peace.”
