CM chairs emergency anti-polio meeting

Eradicating crippling disease
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister KP, Mahmood Khan on Monday chaired an emergency meeting called to contain spread of polio virus in the province. Advisor to Prime Minister on Polio Eradication, Babar Bin Atta was present at the meeting. The meeting showed concern over surfacing of two new cases of polio virus attacks and decided to take steps on war footing against spread of polio disease in the province. The meeting decided that Chief Minister will start anti-polio drive from the most affected district of the province by himself. It was also decided to suspend DHO Lakki Marwat and DHO Bannu for showing disappointing performance during police campaigns. The meeting decided not to register FIRs against parents refusing anti-polio drops to their children and rather persuade them through vibrant justifications and telling them advantages of anti-polio vaccine for their children. The police force would provide needed security cover to the members of anti-polio campaigns.
