CPNE Code of Ethics Committee announced

Mr. Arif Nizami, President Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has announced to constitute CPNE Code of Ethics Committee.
A statement issued by Dr. Jabbar Khattak, Secretary General CPNE said that the approval of setting-up Code of Ethics Committee was given during a recent meeting of Standing Committee of CPNE.
According to announcement, the Code of Ethics Committee’s purpose and its set responsibilities and format to examine Code of Ethics included in the Pakistan Press Council Ordinance, 2002 and suggest the amendments in the code of suit present day requirement of the press, to suggest ways and means to member editors of the implementation of the Code of Ethics and assist the editors on the problems arising out of the implementations of the code. The committee will be liable to inform the Standing Committee of CPNE about its decisions and recommendations.
Mr. Arif Nizami, President of CPNE, has been appointed as Chairman, and Dr. Jabbar Khattak, Secretary General of CPNE has been appointed as Deputy Chairman of CPNE Code of Ethics Committee, while Zia Shahid, Chief Editor Daily Khabrain Group, Ayaz Khan (Daily Express), Aamer Mahmood (Kiran Digest Group), Imtiaz Alam (Monthly South Asian Journal), Imtinan Shahid (Daily Khabrain), Hamid Hussain Abidi (Daily Amn), Anwar Sajidi (Daily Intekhab), Zaffar Abbas (Daily Dawn), Kazim Khan (Daily Times), Maqsood Yousufi (Daily Nai Baat), Muzaffar Ejaz (Daily Jasarat), Abdul Khalique Ali (Online News Agency), Javed Ahmed (Daily Aitemad), Yahya Khan Sadozai (Daily Lead Pakistan) and Muhammad Tahir (Daily Jurrat) would be the members of the committee.
