Domestic violence Bill to be presented in assembly soon: KP Law minister

Public offices of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are opened for the recommendations of all stakeholders in regard of KP Human Rights Policy, said Minister for Law Sultan Muhammad Khan in his speech during the orientation event on Human Rights Policy Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The orientation Event was arranged by united Nation Development program (UNDP) on Wednesday.
The Minister Law said provision of basic rights to neglected and downtrodden segments of the society is the main agenda of the government. He added, “We have approved Domestic violence Bill from cabinet with our determined efforts and would presented at the assembly soon.” The Minister further said that amendment in police Act is also under consideration in order to strengthen and reform the critical pillars of criminal justice system that is essential for the realization of the Rights. The Suggestion of introducing “Human Rights” as subject in curriculum was also appreciated by the Minister for law and assured that meeting will be held as soon as possible on the above point with the Department of education. Minister for Law added that KP government is fully determined in respect of Human Right policy making and is devoted to welcome all the positive suggestions and recommendations from all stakeholders among the Civil Society. He also appreciated the support and striving of UNDP and paid thanks to all participants and expressed his gratitude to all participants and media persons.
