Dragging army into Asia case, unfortunate: DG ISPR

Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Friday said dragging army into Asia Bibi case was unfortunate as army had nothing to do with this case.
“ Dragging army into Asia Bibi case is deplorable . Army has nothing to do with this case. Let the law complete its course. Case is sub judice, he said this while talking to state TV channel Friday. He said that Asia case is running in the courts since the last ten years. Army has no relevance with it.
It is desire of Pakistan army that matters are resolved in peaceful manner. There are certain limitations imposed by law and constitution which should be respected.
The DG ISPR added that “even though the army had nothing to do with [Asia Bibi’s] case”, the forces still wish that the matter will be resolved peacefully.
At the same time, he warned that the action, allowed by the Constitution, will be taken if matters escalate further.
He held that we are tolerating the talk against army since long. Action can be taken as per law and constitution. .
He underlined that Islam teaches us lesson of peace and love. We should not abandon Islamic teachings. All Muslims love the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and there can be no compromise on that,”
He remarked “ religious parties staged dharna against Supreme Court decision and government is trying to talk with the protesters. ISI representatives are included in the delegation.
He said Pakistan army is engaged in eliminating terrorism. The war on terrorism is close to be won. Our attention should not be diverted. The country will move forward if we all stand united.
