The agriculture department’s extension wing district director Murad Ali Khan asked farmers to get only the registered and approved wheat seed from the nearest farm service centres for sowing.
Talking to journalists at Talash, he said standard wheat seeds would be provided to farmers at subsidised rates on ‘first come, first get’ basis. He said the farm service centres at Talash, Timergara, Khall, Maidan, Munda, Samarbagh and Chakdara had been provided with enough wheat seeds.
He said urea fertiliser was also available at these centres. Mr Ali said farmers in different areas of Lower Dir had already been provided training on modern farming to help them increase their produce.
The agriculture official also asked farmers to adopt modern means that guaranteed improved yields.
