Under Federally Administered Tribal Area(FATA)AIDS(Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome)control program,awareness session was set up in Jirga Hall of Tehsil Jamrud on Monday aimed to impart knowledge regarding the disease.
Assistant Political Agent (APA)Jamrud Muhammad Riaz Khan was the chief guest of the session.
Agency surgeon Dr Muhammad Rafiq, official of health directorate FATA, tribal elders and members of civil society joined the gathering.
Addressing on the occasion Muhammad Riaz Khan said it was imperative to create awareness among the tribesmen regarding the fatal disease, AIDS.
“As much information the masses will have, more they will follow precautionary measures pertaining the disease, he added and urged the health officials to roll up their slaves to inform the tribal of the menace of AIDS”.
He called upon the people to strictly follow the life path of Islam that restrain us of such kind of curse.
Dr Muhammad Rafiq while shedding light on the symptoms and precautions of the AIDS said that although the disease was cure-less but if timely diagnosed and adopted necessary precautionary measures, it could be control and the effectee could serve his or her life with respect.
DrRafiq said abrupt loss of weight, constant cough and temperature, steady diarrhea, pneumonia, developing of red spots on effectee body etc. were few sighs of AIDS.
It is to be mentioned here that FATA has 485 AIDS positive cases while 78 tribesmen are affected with AIDS virus in Khyber Agency.
