Gang of thieves busted

PESHAWAR: The police claimed to have busted a gang of thieves and arrested its five members during a raid in Lakki city on Monday. A police official said that unknown thieves broke into shops located at Michenkhel locality in Lakki city and took away cash, mobile phones and other valuables.
He added that the affected shopkeepers approached police for initiating action against the culprits and District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Hasan Iqbal asked the city police to trace the thieves and ensure their arrest at all costs.
After hours-long efforts police learnt that the criminals used minor kids to steal goods and cash from shops,” said the official, adding that the cops arrested three minors including Ishfaq, Jawad and Riaz for their alleged involvement in theft incidents.
He said that the arrested boys disclosed the names of their mentors during initial interrogation. “The law-enforcers raided a suspected hideout in Lakki city and arrested key members of the gang identified as Suhail Khan and Asif Khan,” he maintained.
The official said the police also recovered looted money and mobile phones from them and registered a case under relevant section of law in LakkiMarwat Police Station.
