ISLAMABAD : Caretaker Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has said that the government realized 89 billion rupees through the Tax Amnesty Scheme (TAS).
Speaking at a conference on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Islamabad on Wednesday, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar said this has helped to some extent in bridging tax shortfall.
She emphasized the need for greater partnership with local and international entities for realization of SDGs goals but added that domestic resource mobilization was key to success.
The NGOs and corporate sector can play a significant role in sustainable progress towards implementation of SDGs, she added.
Dr. Shamshad Akhtar asked the Ministry of Planning and Development to prepare a road-map prioritizing SDGs and how to finance them.
