Govt revises foreign currency limitations for passengers travelling abroad

ISLAMABAD: For curbing money laundering, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a new travel advisory regarding the amount of foreign currency the passengers can carry while travelling abroad from Pakistan. According to the FBR advisory, passengers aged 18 or more are not allowed to carry more than $10,000 (or an equivalent amount in other foreign currencies) on a single visit. Under the new rules, all travellers leaving Pakistan have been restricted from carrying more than Rs3,000. The new advisory includes information about restrictions on carrying currency exchange and the prohibited goods. DNA
