The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Health Department has asked people across the province to be vigilant against dengue outbreak during the monsoon season.
In communiqué issued by the KP Health Department on Thursday, as many as 26 dengue cases have been surfaced across the province during last one month and nine affectees belonged to the provincial capital Peshawar.
Dengue virus spreads rapidly during the rainy season and masses are cautioned for taking measures to keep them safe of dengue, the communiqué said.
The Health Department further stated that entomologists were also engaged in efforts to minimize the epidemic of dengue, apart cooperation of masses is vital to check the decease.
It said that the masses should not let the sewerage water to accumulate in their neighbourhood, as stagnant water serves as breeding ground for dengue larva.
