Islamabad Model Colleges strike enters 7th Day

Islamabad(Online): The strike entered in 7th day as all the teaching and Non-teaching staff of the Islamabad Model Colleges are on a complete strike since October 25.
All the academic activitis were completely shut down since then. Although the representatives of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) were invited by the Additional Secretary CA&DD on October 26, 2016 for negotiations bur yet the talks proved to be merely preliminary as the Additional Secretary was of the view that the complexity of the teachers’ issues makes the involvement of the Minister CA&DD highly essential.
He assured the representatives of JAC that he would soon arrange their meeting with the Minister CA&DD.
Employees say they are as determined as they were on the very first day of the strike and they wish to continue the strike as long as their issues are not acceptably resolved.
The representatives of JAC stated that government officials concerned have tried to turn a deaf ear to teachers’ strike and they have been hiding the real situation from the government and public.
The representatives of JAC told media that teachers are totally motivated this time and we are not going to call off this strike until we achieve all our demands approved.
They said that all our demands are genuine and legal as they have been acknowledged by Mr. Faridullah Khan and Mr. Hassan Iqbal (both former secretaries of CA&DD) in black and white. JAC clarified that the strike is for their genuine rights.
