KP advisory committee on CPEC meets

PESHAWAR: A meeting of the KP Advisory Committee on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was held on Friday at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
A handout said that officials of the provincial government, KP Board of Investment and Trade, K-P Economic Zones Development and Management Company were present in the meeting, chaired by Ghulam Dastagir.
The statement said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s long-term plans for economic development would be considered in alignment with China-Pakistan Economic Corridor infrastructural projects, so that the province derives maximum benefits from such “once in a millennium opportunity.”
Also, the province will continue to pursue meaningful, carefully considered infrastructural projects for execution as part of CPEC programme.To accelerate KP’s economic development, steps will be taken to operationalise the province’s mining policy, tourism policy and industrial policy, the meeting participants vowed. The KP Advisory Committee on CPEC will also engage various trade bodies, district bodies and the public on various forums to exchange ideas that can become part of the plans.
