Lacking of medical facilities claimed life of infant

Swabi (Online): Swabi Bacha Khan Medical Complex is lacking basic medicinal facilities as owing to the shortage and negligence of doctors and medical staff most of the cases related to gynae are referring to Peshawar.
According to detail the medical complex is lacking medical facilities for past many months but the situation turned into worst when an infant that early referred to Khyber Teaching Hospital from Swabi Bacha Khan Medical Complex died in hospital.
The relative of the infant held a strong protest over the alarming situation and appealed to provincial health minister and other related high officials take notice of this incident.
The affected person Aftab Ahmad the resident of Swabi while telling the tragic story stated that “Once on 13th August, 2016 early at 12:30am when we reached with a gynae case of my wife to Swabi Bacha Khan Medical Complex, there was no lady doctor & staff available on duty or on call. We received the emergency admission flyer, but we faced a strange condition is hospital.
He pointed that there was no stretcher available, no road for vehicle to labour room as labor room is about 1KM away from emergency gate or hospital entrance. “When we reach to labor room the nurse on duty was sleeping. On insisting she woke up and warned us that you are not allowed to talk with us. When I ask about the doctor, she replied that we cannot call to doctor. Anyhow we came back after waiting and talking with the nurse. I asked about the management the two young doctors informed me that tonight we are on duty but we are helpless we know nothing , we are knew and cannot do anything. In short they wasted more than one hour in this process” he stated.
In condition of pain, death and life we went to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar with patient. Here also the admission was allowed, but in labour room the doctor said they have no bed available because of this process about 40 to 50 minutes they wasted.
Later they refer us to Khyber Teacher Hospital (KTH) Peshawar. After completing documentation process and arranging blood round about 6:00 am the case was handled. This was the case of C-Section. My wife was saved but unfortunately and unluckily I have lost my infant.
According to KTH doctors and nursing staff when I asked the reason they have told me time & distance wasted from Swabi to Peshawar. Further they have shared that every day they are facing two or three cases in KTH only from Swabi where often mother or child happen expired. “I think only health minister is responsible for this because he failed to deliver” he pointed finger.
