Limousine crash leaves 20 dead in New York

NEW YORK : At least twenty people have been killed in a crash involving a limousine transporting a wedding party in the US state of New York.

Police said that two vehicles were involved in the crash in the town of Schoharie. Local media reported that one of the vehicles slammed into a crowd of pedestrians at a country store.Police said the accident occurred Saturday afternoon when two cars collided in Schoharie County, near the state capital, Albany.

An SUV-style stretch limousine sped down a hill, crashing into pedestrians outside the Apple Barrel Country Store and Cafe,The National Transportation Safety Board confirmed on Twitter that a limo was involved and said it was sending investigators to the scene.

It was unclear how many of the fatalities were pedestrians or occupants of the vehicles but witnesses at the scene said several bodies could be seen on the ground outside the Apple Barrel.

Earlier on November 01, 2017, at least 8 people had been killed after a truck hit several people in a bike path near the World Trade Center in New York.
The suspect, in a Home Depot rental truck, hopped a curb at West Houston Street and drove south on the West Street bike path on west side of West Side Highway, an official said. Sources said the suspected opened fire and then plowed into the cyclists. Five police personnel among 15 people were injured in the incident.
