Mamnoon calls for actively pursuing Kashmir cause at international forums

Islamabad (Online): President Mamnoon Hussain has underscored the need for proactive diplomacy to draw the world attention toward gross human rights violations committed by Indian forces against innocent Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir.
He was talking to Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The President called for actively pursuing the Kashmir cause at various international forums and expressing Pakistan’s concern about the alarming situation in Occupied Kashmir.
Tariq Fatemi briefed the President about international issues with particular reference to the regional situation.
Meanwhile, in a separate meeting with Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Haider, the President reiterated Pakistan’s continued diplomatic, political and moral support to the oppressed Kashmiris in their struggle against foreign occupation.
The President stressed that peace will remain elusive in the region unless the decades old issue of Kashmir is resolved.
He also congratulated Farooq Haider Khan on being elected as Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and hoped that under his sagacious leadership the newly elected public representatives will work with dedication for the well-being of the people.
