Musazai flays Imran’s call to shutdown Islamabad

PESHAWAR: Provincial Information Secretary KP PMLN, Nasir Khan Musazai said on Monday that PTI Chief Imran Khan’s call to shutdown Islamabad was tantamount to deprive people of Pakistan from right of votes.
Addressing a big public gathering at Mathani in outskirts of Peshawar, Nasir Khan said that if the practice and trend of toppling an elected government through politics of agitation and sit inns was set today than no political party or government would able to complete its government tenure in future and democracy will ultimately suffer.
He said Imran Khan’s criticism on peoples’ welfare projects like Metro Bus and Metro Train was rejected by masses as his party government in Khyber Pakthunkhwa has neither given Metro bus like welfare projects to people of Peshawar nor brought any significant changes in education and health sector in KP. He said PTI Government has failed to address masses problems in KP.
“It would be better for Imran Khan to present his point of views regarding corruption before the masses in 2018 general elections campaign,” he said, adding people would decide about future of a political party or personality in upcoming general elections.
He said if the culture of toppling of an elected government through politics of negativity, agitation and shutdown of Islamabad was set today than no political party would complete its government’s tenure in future.
He said democracy has returned to the country after a lot of sacrifices by democratic forces and we need to strengthen it as it was the only system that can put the country on road to sustained progress and development.
On the other hand, Musazai said the agenda of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was uniformed development and economic prosperity of the country. “Had PM Nawaz Sharif given a chance to complete his last two tenures, Pakistan would have become a developed country like Turkey, Malaysia and Singapore today,” he said, adding all the big projects including Motorways, Ghazi Brotha Dam and Coastal Highway were constructed in the governments of PM Nawaz Sharif.
He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC) launched by PM Nawaz Sharif with assistance of China was yet another gift of PMLN Government for masses that would bring economic revolution in Pakistan.
He regretted over the behaviors of opponents that had started unnecessary criticism on CPEC as they were scared that if PMLN government completed its constitutional tenure and economic agenda than their politics would be buried forever. The PMLN leader said criticism for political scoring on the western route was tantamount to impede progress and development of Pakistan.
“Some politicians were again come out to make CPEC controversial like Kalabagh dam on behest of their foreign masters’ agenda however, they would not succeed in their designs,” he asserted. He said these elements are not working and sincere for Pakistan. He said people from Karachi to Peshawar and Gawardar to Chitral were on the same page for success of CPEC and would thwart all the negative attempts and designs against this game changer project.
Nasir Musazai said energy shortfall was the major problem of Pakistan and reddressal of this inherited problem was necessary for expediting pace of economic development. He said PMLN Government was working tirelessly to address this inherited problem and accorded highest focus to energy sector in CPEC. Under CPEC, China will invest about $34 billion in thermal, solar and wind power generation facilities that after completion would not only fulfill needs of our consumers and industries but would include Pakistan in energy surplus countries. He said political cohesion was required to take full advantage of CPEC being considered as eighth wonder of the world besides taking full advantage of this golden opportunity for betterment of our people.
