No progress without education : Rajwana

Wah Cantt (Online): Governor of Punjab Malik Rafiq Rajwana has said that education gives awareness but knowledge gives more awareness. Degree is of no use but knowledge gives benefit to human being.
This he said while addressing the 5th Convocation of University of Wah held at the auditorium of the University.
Governor Punjab stressed upon the students that their career is beginning today and wherever they would be, they would have to sacrifice for the motherland.
He paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan Armed Forces and officials of law enforcement agencies who laid down their lives for the country and said that the whole nation is proud of their sacrifices which will be remembered for ever.
He said that students should play their role for the progress of the country. He was appreciative of the standard of the University has achieved.
Some 1101 students were conferred under-graduate and graduate degrees in the disciplines of Engineering, Basic Sciences, Computer Sciences, Management Sciences and Social Sciences & Humanities. 36 high achievers were awarded gold medals by Governor Punjab.
Earlier, in his opening address, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khaliq ur Rehman Shad apprised the audience about the salient achievements of the University since its inception.
