Plant for Islamabad Campaign to be launched in April

ISLAMABAD: ‘Plant for Islamabad’ campaign will be launched on the third of next month under government’s ten billion tree tsunami initiative. Addressing a news conference on Friday, Deputy Secretary Babar Hayat said the minimum target of planting one hundred thousand saplings has been set for Plant for Islamabad campaign. He said distribution points will be established by the Islamabad administration and Capital Development Authority on that day for distribution of free saplings amongst the masses. The deputy secretary said the government will invest one billion Dollars in ten billion tree tsunami project. He said the provincial governments will contribute fifty percent funds to the initiative. He said the Federal government will provide funds for the Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, tribal districts and the federal capital territory. The deputy secretary said that MOUs are also being signed with the corporate sector to make them partner in the Clean and Green Program. INP
