President, PM grieved over Wahab’s death

President Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Hussain Chaudhry and Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noor-ul-Haq Qadri have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Haji Abdul Wahab, the Ameer of Tableeghi Jamaat. The Prime Minister, President and the Federal Ministers in their separate messages offered condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
They said that invaluable services rendered by Haji Abdul Wahab as a religious scholar will always be remembered.
The PM, President and Federal Ministers said that the deceased rendered innumerable services for preaching and spreading the message of Islam. They said that Haji Abdul Wahab has a prominent place among the religious leaders who endowed every moment of their lives for the cause of Islam.
They said that Haji Abdul Wahab always based his preaching on peace. The late Ameer of Tableeghi Jamaat proved through his conduct that sentiments of peace and love can bring lasting changes in the mindset and character of a person, they added.
They further stated that efforts to portray Islam as a religion of peace resulted in formation of an institution in the annual Tableeghi Ijtema (gathering) at Raiwind, which is attended by hundreds of thousands of people every year.
The annual Tableeghi Ijtema at Raiwind is considered the largest gathering of Muslims after Hajj, they added.
