Rs18.40b paid to affectees of in merged areas of erstwhile Fata

PESHAWAR: The Department of Relief and Rehabilitation Khyber Pakthunkhwa has paid Rs18.40 billion to the owners of the houses destroyed during militancy in the merged tribal areas, said a spokesman of the Department here on Monday. The spokesman said in all 57,570 families benefited from the compensation payment. The payment was made to the affected people of Sout Waziristan, North Waziristan, Kurram, Orakzai and Khyber tribal districts. As per break up, Rs7.9591billion were provided to affected people of South Waziristan, Rs3.1632 billion to North Waziristan, Rs3.1459billion to Orakzai, Rs1.7043billion to Kurram and Rs2.4721billion to Khyber tribal districts. During militancy, 38,473 houses were completely and 19097 partially destroyed in merged districts of erstwhile Fata. Our Correspondent
