Senate body recommends up-gradation of tribal areas hospitals

FATA had separate funds share but now it has been merged in KP province and the matter is also with the KP government

Senate Standing Committee on States and Frontiers Regions on Thursday recommended up-gradation of hospitals in Tribal region.
The committee also recommended appointment of para-medical and other staff on vacant positions in these hospitals. The meeting recommended consultation with all stakeholders including public over the development projects and completion of these projects should be made on priority basis.
The meeting was held under the chair of Chairman Taj Muhammad Afridi at the Parliament House. Senator Hadyatullah, Hilal ur Rehman, Lt. General (R) Salah-ud-Din Tirmzi, Sajjad Hussain Turi, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Nasir and other attended were present in the meeting.
The committee chairman said IDPs relief package was until 2009 and the committee recommends it expending up to 2011. He said the tribal farmers loans should be converted into aid.
Tirmzi said earlier FATA had separate funds share but now it has been merged in KP province and the matter is also with the KP government. There should be an easy in Fata welfare fund. Additional Chief Secretary said that the KP government had taken proper measures in this regard.
He said all Fata departments are with KP but their autonomous position will remain as it was earlier. The committee chairman said some unregistered people were protesting in parts of Fata, adding their registration should be ensured.
