Speech competition held in Wana

A speech competition conducted by All Fata Youth Forum kicked off between students of government High School Wana in South Waziristan on Thursday.
Inspector General Frontier Col Waziristan Major General Abid Latif was invited as a chief guest who distributed shields among the winners.
The school students presented speeches on women empowerment, current situation of country, importance of education and other general topics.
Chairman of FATA Youth Forum South Waziristan, Umar wazir stated that the program was conducted with the aim to empower the youth of Wana and shed light on the crucial role that education plays in every sector.
“The youth of tribal areas are not behind, they have the same talent and potential as possessed by other youth of the country,” he said, adding that the tribal youngsters are performing their duties in every sector of the country with full leadership and they are aware of their responsibilities.
Appreciating the program, Abid Latif stated that he feels contented after witnessing young students showing love for their country through their speeches.
“The students know how to defend their country and that shows their patriotism,” said Latif.
He maintained that the security forces along with political administration is working for the upgradation of government schools and they plan to pay attention to education of girls in this region.
The Scouts Commandant of Waziristan Ijaz Ahmed, Colonel Attiqur Rehman and Major Anas were also present al this occasion.
