Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed has directed all police officials to launch massive crackdown against drug pushers, wine sellers and anti-social elements.
It was directed by him while reviewing the performance of various police circles on Thursday and directions were issued to all Station House Officers (SHOs) to curb anti-social activities with massive action against the outlaws.
The SSP said that strict actions should be taken against those involved in drug peddling activities and directed for launching crackdown against drug pushers and register cases against those involved in such heinous crime.
The SSP said that no influence can be tolerated in massive crackdown against criminals as action would speak louder and no discrimination to be made.
Following his directions, he was told that ASI Muhammad Akram from Kohsar police nabbed Pervez, an accomplice of notorious bootlegger Malik Qadoos, and recovered 10 wine bottles from his car (AY-134). During preliminary investigation, he confessed his involvement in such activities along with Malik Qadoos while raids are being conducted to arrest those involved in ugly activity of wine selling.
Meanwhile, Aabpara police arrested Aaqib Umer and recovered 200 gram hashish from him. Kohsar police arrested Irtaza Haider and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Industrial-Area police arrested Zahid Jameel and recovered two wine bottles from him while Sabzi Mandi police arrested Irfan for having 610 gram hashish.
Khanna police arrested Mubashir Masih and recovered 10 liter liquor from him while another accused Said Agha was held for having 32 gram heroin.
Bahara Kahu police arrested Baber and recovered 320 gram hashish from him while another accused Anus was held for possessing 30 bore pistol. CIA police arrested Zeeshan and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.
SSP (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed has appreciated this overall performance and directed for effective patrolling in the city. He said that steps should be taken to ensure effective policing and action must be taken against anti-social elements through mutual coordination.
