Teaching training activities for doctors initiated at HMC

PESHAWAR : A number of teaching/training activities for doctors have been initiated in different specialties of Hayat Abad Medical Complex (HMC), having formal CME (Continuing Medical Education) accreditation.
The clinical Executive Board led by the Medical Director Prof. Shehzad Akbar Khan has set up a committee to organize an academic calendar for regular conduction of such activities.
The Chairman Board of Governors Sahibzada Saeed while appreciating these events directed the hospital administration to set aside substantial funds which would be readily available for such activities.
In this connection the Arthoplasty Society head Prof. M Arif in collaboration with eight members of Pak Arthoplasty Society and Pak Orthopedic Association Organized a two-day workshop on hip and knee implants with participation from different hospitals with participation of specialist doctors from all over the Country.
The lecture session was followed by live Surgery demonstration whereby implants worth Rs.2 lacs were instituted at no cost to the patient.
Trainees attending the session described the event as an extra ordinary opportunity for professional development.
Further-more a seminar addressing common medical illnesses such as Hypertension, Diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia and metabolic syndrome was arrange by wthe medical department efficiently supervised by chair of medicine Prof. Mumtaz Ali Marwat.
Renowned endocrinologist Prof. A.H Amir overviewed the session as a clinical expert and distributed honor shields.
It is also pertinent to mention here that faculty of HMC recently conducted a primary trauma care workshop for young doctors in Ayub Medical Complex.
A series of seminars, Conferences and workshops are in the pipeline over ensuing few months in HMC which would ensure professional development and enhance the Knowledge and skills of doctors working in different specialties.
