A group of unknown armed assailants attacked with sophisticated weapons on village Sher Khan Odhano and killed three villagers and injured five others including a minor baby girl over an old ongoing dispute developed between Jakhrani and Odhano tribesmen over trivial issue at Garhi Khairo tehsil of district Jacobabad, in the vicinity of Tajo Dero Police Station, here on Wednesday morning.
Rasool Bakhsh, the Writing Head Constable of aforesaid Police Station, confirmed the incident and said that a group of armed assailants believed to be Jakhrani tribesmen attacked on villager and opened indiscriminate firing on Odhana community men which resulting three villagers identified as Nadir Ali Odhano, of 22, Hajan Odhano, 52, both were real cousins, and Sobidar Ali, of 35, nephew of killed Hajan Odhano, were killed on the spot while five other villages named baby Sana, Aamir Ali, Sabir Ali, Azad and Muzamil Odhano sustained grave bullet wounds during the course of firing, it was continued at least two hours.
Following the information, area police along with heavy contingent, headed by DSP Garhi Khairo and SHO Tajo Dero, reached on the spot and controlled over the situation while armed assailants managed to escape after seeing police has reached next to area, Rasool added.
Area police moved the bodies and injured to Garhi Khairo Hospital and handed over the bodies of deceased to their heirs after completing necessary medical legal formalities while injured were admitted to hospital for medical treatment.
An apple of discord was said to be an ongoing dispute developed between Jakhrani and Odhano community men when both community children were playing cricket outside village and fought with each other over trivial issue of children and claimed three lives of innocent persons a couple of months ago, an official added.
At least six villagers have lost their lives while at least 10 villagers have sustained injuries within a few months during the course of fight and score may increase if necessary measures would not be taken to curb the deadly dispute.
A large number of innocent people have lost their precious lives and a good number of people have lost their body parts in deadly feuds and due to deadly disputes health centres and government schools remain closed of the areas because no one wants to go to the disputed areas to run government-run schools or centres.
Both community men set up pickets outside their villages to cope with any untoward incident due to which fear has increased.
Neither an FIR was lodged nor police have apprehended killers till filling of this news story.
