Minister for Finance KP, Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagrha on Wednesday attended an event as chief guest arranged by Durhsal administered by KPIT Board.
The event was an interaction with female IT incubatees. A project of two million dollars from multi-donor fund is underway where 31 female IT-Expert teams are supported in their unique business for 30 months duration.
Each team comprising of three females who will excel in the field and will create career opportunities for female part of the society.In his interaction with the gathering, Finance Minister told that gender inclusive co-working spaces (Durshal) have been developed by KPITB, to ensure that they remain inclusive spaces for women, and thrive as community centers.
He furthered that specifically, it will involve providing incubation opportunity to aspiring women entrepreneurs in the field of ICT and hiring of staff to perform outreach activities. Taimur also appreciates the donors initiative and support by thanking the team present in the event. He revealed that KP has developed women oriented business policies that attracts the female investors to invest and create job opportunities.
He added that female part of the society can really contribute in national economy by empowering and providing them equal opportunities.”The staff will also act as facility and community managers, and serve as program liaison and as a resource for female digital workers in the community” he added.
He also said that this initiative would also identify key constraints that women face to accessing spaces and co-working opportunities and pilot initiatives to address these constraints, including transportation support, childcare support, or events focused on soft skills, such as confidence building for women in digital skills programs.
The event was also attended by donors from different countries.
