13 areas in District West Karachi went into smart lockdown

KARACHI, December 5 (Online): 13 localities of District West in Karachi have went into smart lockdown on Saturday, for a period of 14 days, due to spike in number of coronavirus cases in the city.
According to Deputy Commissioner, District West, MD Dharijo, smart lockdown will be enforced from today (December 5) to December 18, in the COVID-19 affected areas of the District.
The 14-day smart lockdown has been imposed in Baldia Town, Islamnagar, Saeedabad, Mohajir Camp, Maymarabad, Metroville, Gadap, Keamari, Yousuf Goth, Data Nagar, Hanifabad, Pak Colony, and Frontier Colony.
The Deputy Commissioner further informed that all coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be strictly enforced in the affected areas during the smart lockdown.
He said that all businesses will remain closed, with the exception of grocery stores, medical stores and shops selling essential items.
