2 held, stolen money, valubles recovered

The police arrested two burglars after robberies in various areas and seized stolen money, 40 cellphones and other valuables from their possession here on Thursday, an official said.
Speaking at a press conference, Superintendent of Police (SP) Shafiullah Gandapur said that accused after a robbery were managing to flee the scene, however, the police chased them and arrested him.
On the pointation of the accused, the police chased his accomplice and arrested him in an injured condition after an encounter.
He was flanked by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Muhammad Shoaib and DSP Suburb Ijaz Khan.
The SP City said that one complainant Asim Zewar had reported to the Paharipura Police Station that he was on his way home at Ring Road when two gunmen riding a motorbike snatched Rs 5000 from him at gunpoint.
He said the other one Johar Ali had reported to the same police station that the he was heading home on the Ring Road when gunmen riding a motorbike intercepted him and snatched Rs 30,000 from him.
The SP City said that the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Qazi Jamilur Rehman took notice in the incidents and directed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Javed Iqbal to arrest the robbers immediately.

He said the SSP Operations Javed Iqbal formed a police team under the supervision comprising him, ASP Faqirabad, Muhammad Shoaib, SHO Pharipura Abdullah Jalal and other cops.
He said the police during action in arrested robber gang member Waqar resident of Bahadar Killay, and recovered stolen money Rs 35,000 and cellphone from him. His accomplice managed to flee the scene.
He said the police party after a long chase and a short encounter arrested the robber identified as Shehryar alis Sher in an injured condition.
He said the police also recovered a pistol and several stolen mobile from him.
