The Inspector General of Police Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi visits district Kurram to review security situation in the area. On arrival at Kurram he was very warmly welcomed and a smartly turned contingent of Kurram Police presented guard of honour.
The IGP KP held meetings with the police and security forces to discuss the security situation in Kurram. DIG Kohat region gave a detailed briefing to IGP KP on security situation in the region.
The IGP KP, while addressing on the occasion, said that today we are living in a peaceful environment, without any fear, due to the untiring efforts and valuable sacrifices of the Pak Army and other law enforcing agencies.
The IGP KP informed that 90 percent process of the absorption of Khasadar and Levies had been completed and the remaining Khasadar and Levies would be completed in the next week. He said that the training of the Khasadars and Levies would be started from 1st August. The IG KP said that the process of purchase of arms and latest security equipment had been initiated. Similarly, the purchase of uniform and vehicles would also be completed soon. He further informed that land for construction of police stations, police posts and offices for CTD and Special Branch had already been acquired and construction work would be started soon. He said that 10000 new posts had been created for extension of CTD and Special Branch to NMDs and said that educated people, bearing good character, would be recruited on these posts.
The IGP KP directed the police high ups to develop acquaintance of the people of NMDs with the new police system which is possible through professional policing and exhibiting highest standard of honesty and provision of justice and services to the people at their door steps. He said that confidence of the people in the police system is key to success in the area. He further directed to win the hearts and minds of the people through Awami Policing to make the merger a success.
