ISLAMABAD : Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said his meeting with Afghan Taliban delegation remained beneficial and it is Pakistan endeavor intra-Afghan dialogue should be moved forward soon.
“ meeting with Afghan Taliban delegation remained useful. We were agreed on this point that a political solution is lasting solution to Afghan issue which is possible only through dialogue”, he said this in a statement issued here Thursday.
He held “ Could the peace have been prevailed by dint of force then period of 41 years was not insufficient time. But it could not happen so.
US, China, Russia and leading countries of the region are supporting Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan stance regarding pursuance of course of dialogue for establishment of peace in Afghanistan, he remarked.
He pointed out “ we have discussed the matter of implementation of peace accord reached in Doha. Afghan delegation informed about difficulties being faced in connection with implementation of Doha peace agreement.
He held headway has been made in the perspective of implementation on Doha peace pact. Holding Loya Jirga is a positive movement forward.
As it is in your knowledge Prime Minister Imran Khan has contacted Abdullah, Abdullah by telephone and invited him to visit Pakistan and he has accepted this invitation, he added. It is Pakistan endeavor to move forward Intra-Afghan dialogue soon, he observed.
