Rangers officials on Monday night confiscated a huge cache of weapons hidden underground at New Karachi school.A spokesman for the Rangers said on a tip-off, Rangers personnel raided GodharaTameer-e-Millat School located in Sector 11-F and dug out bulk of hidden arms including four LMGs, two 8-mm rifles, five 12 bore pistols, two double barrel rifles, 44 bore rifle, triple-two rifle, Two pistols of 30 bore, two .22 rifle and three telescopes.Sources said it seems that the weapons were buried to prepare for any war or to carry out major terrorist activities.Rangers spokesman said that recovered weapons belong to MuttahidaQaumi Movement (MQM) London which were to be used for terror attacks in the metropolis.
Meanwhile crackdown against criminal elements under National action Plan (NAP) continues in Karachi as seven more accused were taken into custody during police operation in different parts of the city on early Tuesday morning.Police also conducted two separate operations on Gulberg area and apprehended at least five accused. Police sources said that the arrested persons were involved in sale of narcotics and robbery cases.In yet another operation by police in Darakhshan in Defence area and recovered an abducted girl. Two kidnappers, Tariq and Saqib, were also arrested by police.
