Islamabad : Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has established fake cases against them.
The former premier said with the alleged support of the business community, the government in order to hide its corruption and corrupt practices was taking ‘revenge’ from opposition parties. He said the former premier is abroad for treatment purposes.
The former premier expressed these views after appearing before an anti-terrorism court on Tuesday.
After over two years of reference against him, he said, he received copies of references today, adding the Karachi court decision has exposed credibility of NAB. He said the NAB chairman himself was a judge but he didn’t learn from these decisions.
Khaqan Abbasi said it is regrettable that since assuming charge, the PTI government practice is involved in establishing fake cases against opposition and even didn’t listen.
He said the NAB cannot see over 400 billion of rupees corruption but it can create fake corruption cases against the opposition. He said the government is afraid of public backlash due to the reason has engaged opposition leaders into fake cases.
He said there should be a public hearing of the cases against them so that people can know what sorts of cases the NAB has established against them.
