KOHAT: A former PML-N senator has asked the chief minister to finalise a summary regarding allotment of land for a private hospital the federal government has announced to build in Kohat district.
Addressing a press conference here the other day, former state minister Abbas Khan Afridi claimed that the federal government had approved Rs6.25 billion grant for construction of the private hospital and provision of gas facility in Kohat.
He regretted that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had raised objections to the summary put forward to him that the provincial government must have some sort of role in running of the hospital, thus delaying the allotment of land.
MrAfridi said the hospital for which the commissioner Kohat had already allotted the land would have 250 beds and equipped with modern facilities. He said free treatment would be provided to the patients which would approximately cost Rs80 million annually.
The former senator said Rs4 billion would be spent on laying of gas pipelines and Rs2.25 billion on the hospital which would be run by him in private capacity. He also claimed to have got sanctioned a grid station for KhushalGarh to overcome load on the existing grid.
