Islamabad – March 13 (Online): Former Prime Minister and PML-N’s senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday said that NAB and its chairman’s real issue is Maryam Nawaz’s strict stance against government.
Talking to media along with PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that NAB tried to intimidate Maryam Nawaz. Maryam Nawaz was accused of paralyzing NAB adding that Maryam’s vehicle was attacked and smashed by police when she was on her way to NAB office.
Shahid Khaqan said when no evidence was found against Maryam, such a petition was filed. There is no such precedent in legal history. The court will fine NAB on this frivolous petition. The purpose of this petition is to waste court time.
The PML-N’s senior leader alleged that NAB today is forced to do politics and is a front line player. Musharraf also tried to do politics through NAB.
“The sole purpose of NAB was to suppress politicians and break the vote. Accountability bodies will also be held accountable. These institutions are not above accountability, I have been saying from day one that the NAB and government nexus will not work”, said Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
