Lahore : Punjab’s minister for colonies Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan on Monday said that Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is playing the role of ‘elder brother’ in Pakistan.
In a statement, Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan said that opposition parties only focused on looting Pakistan’s assets in their governmental terms, while the PTI govt’s top priority is institutional reforms.
The provincial minister said that these reforms will equally benefit the coming govts and masses.
Reacting to Sindh govt’s allegations over the Punjab govt regarding water resources, Chohan said that after the statement of PPP MPA Nadir Magsi in Sindh Assembly, these allegations have no value.
Revealing some details about water distributions, Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan said that loss of water resources within Punjab’s 2600 mile canal network is only 8 percent. While on the other hand, the figure for water loss in Sindh’s 600 mile canal network is 39 percent, Punjab’s minister for colonies said.
Chohan later alleged that PPP landlords are harming the province by stealing water for their own crops. Sindh govt has already maligned the Punjab govt before over the issue of wheat purchase, Chohan complained.
