The teachers protesting against pay cuts were baton charged by Peshawar police when they tried to march towards the provincial assembly on Monday. The police also arrested eight protesting teachers who offered resistance against baton charge. The teachers have demanded the concerned authorities to withdraw the decision of deducting their allowances. The protestors said that they have already suffered a lot because of the coronavirus lockdown and now these cuts will further cause problems.
