Thatta police finalise contingency plan for Ashura / Muharram

SSP Thatta, Dr Muhammad Imran Khan has said that Thatta has always been the cradle of religious tolerance therfore religious and social activities/mourning prosession had always reached at their destination peacefully but despite that he said the Thatta police is trying to maintain an atmosphere of peace and order during this Muharram, he said this while presiding over a meeting in connection with Ashora contingency plan .Here on other day (Thursday).
Keeping in view the ongoing Ashora he said foolproof security plan has been made in light to the situation. Meanwhile giving details regarding the situation he said there are (32) Central Imambargahs in the district out of which (4) are highly sensitive and (28) are normal. 58 mourning processions will be emerged out from different points of district, out of which (14) are highly sensitive, (13) Sensitive, (31) have been declared normal.
In addition (239) Majalis will be established in which (38) highly sensitive, (18) sensitive and (183) have been declared normal and total of (10) Imambagah have been declared highly sensitive he added. He said
1016 police officers and youths of Thatta police will perform their duties and additional 112 police officers including SSP Thatta, (120) Head Constables and (784) Constables , (35) Mobile Vehicles and (40) Fighters are also deployed the district besides Rangers will also be presented to assist the police.
Ladies police officers and volunteers will be appointed in the women’s councils.
According to the contingency plan, a heavy contingent of police will be deployed at all imambargahs, mosques, madrassas and sensitive places, procession routes and all gatherings.
Besides it plaincloth personnel have also been appointed for strict surveillance.
All movements will be monitored through CCTV and video recordings.
As per the instructions issued by SSP Thatta, the concerned police officers also reviewed the routes of the processions and necessary instructions have also been issued to the concerned DSPs and SHOs in this regard.in case any issue to contact the concerned police station or helper police 15 or contact at thse number 0298920113, 0298920136 to police control room.
