Former Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said government is fully focusing on how to extend term of chairman NAB and “I say to them to appoint him as life time chairman NAB.
“4 days have passed since chairman NAB has been retired. No process of consultation about the appointment of chairman NAB has been begun. You should appoint sitting chairman as life time chairman NAB. But people will see what Prime Minister who is holding accountability and chairman NAB will meet what doom”, he said this while talking to media men here Tuesday on the occasion of hearing of LNG reference.
He went on to say what stage shows government has to conduct, these all have been assigned to this chairman NAB. .
He stated that the sitting chairman has been appointed till the appointment of next chairman NAB through an ordinance.
NAB ordinance is aimed at covering up government theft, he said. NAB amendment ordinance has come on Friday evening. NAB ordinance will be challenged in Senate and court. Government is only focusing on one thing how the term of the incumbent chairman NAB be extended.
Taking exception to the ill conceived policies and incompetence of the government he said government has done nothing to allay the economic woes of the people. The national economy is in ruins but PM is not caring even a jot for it.
Responding to a question he said PDM public meeting in Faisalabad will be held on October 16. On October 18 PDM will hold its meeting to evolve future strategy.
Talking about PPP he said PPP is part of opposition but not part of PDM. Consultation is made with them being opposition party, he added.
