Rs193m Hayatabad Sports Complex to be completed soon: DG Sports

The Director General (DG) Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Asfandyar Khattak has said that Hayatabad Cricket Stadium, approved by International Cricket Council (ICC), to be completed by the end of this year.
He expressed these views during a ceremony held to inaugurate the installation of comfortable seats exported from Spain at Hayatabad Sports Complex.
NLC Senior Project Manager Colonel Gohar Aftab, Administrator Hayatabad Sports Complex Shah Faisal, Caretaker Yasir Khan and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Senior Curator Lala Tariq Khan were also present on the occasion.
The Hayatabad Cricket Stadium, approved by the ICC at a cost of Rs 193 million, will be completed by the end of December or early January and work is in full swing. Glass wall and ceiling work of the first and second roof of the pavilion has been started.
While 9 wickets of international standard have been completed while seven practice wickets which are being worked on fast will be completed next month.
He said that 6,000 comfortable fixed seats have been specially called from Spain while 2500 VI P-Enclosure seats will arrive next month.
He said that in the light of the directive of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the completion work on the stadium is in full swing and according to the project director NLC should be handed over to the Pakistan Cricket Board delegation in December.
He said that PSL, women’s national matches and modern style school cricket matches would be held at this ground. He also thanked the delegations of the PCB and the International Cricket Council for guiding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in the modernization of the stadium.
The civil work of the electronic scoreboard has been completed and the modern electronic scoreboard will arrive from Spain next month.
He said that the drainage of the ground has already been completed.
He said that the semi-finals of the Inter-School Under-16 Cricket Championship and the ongoing joint venture between the modern Pakistan Cricket Board, Directorate General of Sports and Education has been decided to hold the final matches at Hayatabad Cricket Stadium and C-M KP Mahmood Khan has been requested to participate in the final match as a special guest.
