Neelum : At least four persons, including one woman were killed and seven people sustained serious injuries on Monday when a passenger jeep swerved off a road and fell into hundreds feet deep ravine.
According to details the incident took place near Chlhan village in Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir. Local police Chlhana rushed to the spot to pull the bodies out from the damaged vehicle.
Deceased are identified as driver Muhammad Nazir, Mashkoor Ahmed s/o Hashmat Ullah, Shamim wife of Mashkoor and Zohaib Ahmed S/o Maqsood Ahmed while injured passengers are identified as Muhammad Mansoor S/o Muhammad Ayoub, Robina wife of Muhammad Mansoor, Samim D/o Muhammad Mashkoor, Gazala D/o Mansoor Ahmed, Qadoos S/o Abdul Qayyum, Shah Zaib S/o Muhammad Mashkoor and Saboor S/o Mansoor Ahmed.
The police said that seven critically injured passengers were shifted to MDS jhimber Hospital where injured passengers got first medical treatment while four serious injured passengers shifted to Shaik Zaid hospital Muzafarabad.
Owing to lack of doctors and ambulance in BHU Chlhana all injured passengers were brought to hospital for first medico treatment on private vehicles 25kms away from the accident scene. Road accidents have become commonplace across AJK as most roads are in a dilapidated condition owing to their poor maintenance by the authorities.
