In a bid to maintain law and order situation on the Local Body Election Day, a special strategy has been devised in the provincial capital.
This was said SSP Operation Peshawar Haroon Rasheed, adding that police have initiated search operations and intelligence resources have also been activated.
In this connection, police have arrested a number of suspects and 68 notorious from different parts of the provincial capital.
In order to ensure timely identification and action against the elements involved in various crimes, 68 notorious criminals involved in serious crimes have been arrested he added.
SSP Operations said that during the last night’s operations, as well as 14 aerial shooters a total of 271 suspects, including individuals, have been detained and questioned.
During the operation, action has been taken against 88 unregistered tenants and 23 illegal Afghan nationals, while the accused have been released from jail.
A total of 3 Kalashnikovs, 51 pistols, 6 rifles, shot guns and hundreds of different bore cartridges were also recovered during the operations.
SSP Operations Haroon Rasheed also directed to intensify the ongoing crackdown in the context of local body elections and to establish coordinated coordination with the candidates contesting in the local body elections.
