ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has renewed the licence of Telenor Pakistan (Pvt). According to a PTA statement issued on Tuesday, the licence signing ceremony was held at PTA headquarters on December 10. The signing had been due since 2019. The PTA said the licence has been renewed at a price of $449.2 million for 15 years, out of which Telenor has already paid $333.64 million on account of license renewal fee and applicable mark-up. The PTA said the renewed licence has enhanced terms and conditions for coverage and quality of service, as established during the recent Pakistan Spectrum Auction. In a statement last week, Telenor Pakistan said the dispute with the PTA was on principled demand of providing a level playing field and fair terms and conditions for all parties. TLTP
