Islamabad: Death anniversary of famous Urdu and Punjabi poet Munir Niazi will be observed on December 26, Saturday, Online reported. According to details, literary forums from across the country will organize special events and gatherings to remember the late Munir Niazi. ‘Man of accent’ Munir Niazi was born in 1927 in ‘Hoshyarpur’ area of East Punjab. He completed his education from South Punjab’s Bahawlapur city. Munir Niazi is one of the few poets of Sub Continent whose poetry has been translated into several languages. His Urdu poetry consists of 13 books, Punjabi collection consists of 3 while English collection comprises of two books. “Kulliyaat-e-Munir”, “Aaaghaz”, “Bewafa Ka Shehar”, “Tez Hawa” are amongst his top contributions to Urdu poetry along with others.
