Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Lahore on Thursday to review preparations of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) ahead of the local bodies elections in the province. The decision came a day after the PTI lost the election for the mayor of Peshawar, the party’s stronghold, in the first phase of local bodies election in KP province. “The prime minister will meet Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar during the visit,” the sources having knowledge of the details regarding the visit said.
They said that Usman Buzdar would brief the prime minister regarding local bodies elections in Punjab and preparation of the PTI in this regard. The prime minister will also be briefed on the law and order situation in the province.
