Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has said for the first time government has taken the responsibility of marginalized sections of society and the time will tell either metro train is beneficial for the people or Sehat card.
“ as many as 30 million people will benefit from Sehat card till March. The rulers used to say they will make Pakistan Asian tiger. Can any Asian tiger compete state of Medina”, he said this while addressing Sehat card distribution ceremony here in Governor House Friday.
Paying tribute to chief minister Punjab Usman Buzdar and health minister Dr Yasmin Rashid he said no one can take such big decisions nor has any government of Pakistan taken such step.
“When I went to UK I saw welfare state for the first time. Welfare state is the state which helps people. Welfare state meets the needs of common man. It does not want a particular class makes progress. It wants all should make progress.
Citing Madina State as first welfare state which fulfilled all basic responsibilities of its citizens, the prime minister said unfortunately, no such state was found in the Muslim world rather the Scandinavian states were close to that model.
Naming Denmark, Norway and Sweden, the prime minister said a state always believed in inclusive growth and had compassion for the weaker segment. He said any individual or nation abiding by the teachings of Allah Almighty would get His blessings.
He held if the nation treads the path of state of Meina then it will make progress.
Resources are less in western countries but the development is more therein, he remarked.
“We and government of Punjab are taking vital steps. We are treading on the path which is path of dignity and honor of the nation. We want to move on the way for which Pakistan was created. If Pakistan does not tread on this path then it will be a big deceit for the people of India. This will be a deceit for the people who knew they did not have to come to Pakistan but they cast vote for in favor of Pakistan”, he underlined.
We mentioned name of state of Median in the speeches too much but practically we did nothing for it, he underscored.
He indicated that health insurance of Rs 400 billion will be received by all till March. This is first step toward welfare state. A health structure will be evolved in the country due to this.
He stated now the government will not to have spend money on construction of the hospitals, We will provide land to the private sector. They will construct hospital. Our job is to provide medical equipment to private sectors.
The district hospitals where the doctors don’t go they will be shut and be handed over to the private sector, he added.
