Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said Saturday that his party wanted former party stalwart Jahangir Khan Tarin to stay but he was taking his own political decisions.
Talking to media after inauguration of “Taamir Pakistan Expo” at Expo Center Lahore, Sarwar said that “No one wants Jahangir Khan Tareen to leave party but he is making his own political decisions” adding that he wouldn’t comment more on the issue.
Sarwar said that government will complete its constitutional term and Prime Minister Imran Khan will remain Prime Minister till 2023.
“PTI is united under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Opposition has been talking of sending Prime Minister home since we came to power but so far the opposition has failed in its intentions. Prime Minister Imran Khan and the government will fulfill their constitutional term” he said.
Punjab governor, while talking about local government polls in Punjab said that his designation was constitutional and political, he had no authority to select party’s candidates for the elections. “Governor’s post is constitutional and apolitical. I have no responsibility given by the prime minister regarding the election of candidates for local body elections and other issues. As far as consultation is concerned, we consult on every issue in the party and will continue to do so” he said.
Sarwar said that government was taking solid steps to attract foreign investors. “There is no other example of the facilities provided by the present government to local and foreign investors. Today most of the investment in Pakistan is in the housing sector and I urge those who invest in the housing sector to ensure that the rules are followed in all cases so that they do not face any difficulties in the days to come.” He said.
