Peshawar – January 29 (ONLINE): Peshawar High Court (PHC) has urged social networking app ‘Tiktok’ to abruptly block those who were uploading ‘immoral’ content through the video sharing app as the youth was getting ‘severely affected’ by it.
According to media reports, Peshawar High Court has issued a written order on the petition filed against the prevention of immoral content on Tiktok, stating that most of the young generation was being affected by immoral content on the app.
Court’s written order said that the court had issued instructions to the concerned authorities to stop the immoral content on Tiktok.
According to a report submitted by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), so far 2.9 billion immoral videos have been removed from the app. While 1,465,612 accounts sharing ‘immoral’ content have been blocked.
Court said through its written order that it was told about action taken against those who share immoral content. “Action is taken against those who share immoral content but they are not punished for which they violate again” the court order states.
“The court appreciates the steps taken by PTA to remove immoral content from Tiktok, but the court wants PTA to continue this exercise and immediately block those who share immoral content” the order further states.
